On the paper machine, we measure continually the bearings of press cylinders by an online diagnostic system.
On the bearing of the press cylinder 23240CCK/W33 several vibration parameters are regularly observed. The speed of vibrations vef, the acceleration of vibrations app, the envelope of acceleration env. In several measured parameters, there was a deterioration after one year of the bearing operation. A damage of the outer circle of the spherical roller bearing was diagnosed. The replacement of the bearing during a planned shutdown was recommended. After the replacement, the diagnosis proved to be right.
